The Hamilton Tiger-Cats all-star Linebacker Simoni Lawrence has resigned with the team through 2018.
The University of Minnesota graduate has become an unforgettable face of the team since his arrival from Edmonton in 2013. Lawrence registered 90 tackles, four sacks, and an interception for a touchdown last season.
Last night, the Tiger-Cats made a statement to the league that they are locked on for a major push towards a serious run for the Grey Cup.
The Tiger-Cats made every move they had to make last night. They took a gamble by trading the #5 overall pick to BC for #3 to get a wildcard in Brandon Revenberg, an Offensive Lineman who can do any position as he did in college (Bruce Matthews effect anyone?) as well he was a two time all star in the collegiate level.
The statement continued as they selected the loose cannon of a playmaker, and a college legend in Running Back Mercer Timmis, and a speedster and playmaker in WR Mike Jones, and as well as Linebacker Terrell Davis from UBC in the earlier rounds of the draft.
