The Hamilton Bulldogs picked up their first win of the 2019-2020 season as they escaped the confines of Sarnia with a 4-3 victory in the season opener.

Pros

Goaltender Zachary Roy was outstanding in this first start of the year. Had a productive 28 save performance, including a stellar third period in net.

Arthur Kaliyev picked up where he left off with a three point performance. His playmaking ability was greatly needed with the young core.

Penalty Kill was very good tonight. 80% effective.

Cons

Need to capitalize with the power play. 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

Need to be better on the face off.

Hamilton returns home on Saturday evening against the Erie Otters (formerly known as Hamilton Steelhawks and Niagara Thunder) for the home opener at FirstOntario Centre.
